Both Weld Oscillator Control Systems are a compact,
lightweight, weld torch manipulation control system comprised
of the micro-controller based Weld Oscillator Control and
a stepper motor driven Pendulum Oscillator Assembly or Linear Slide Assembly.
The WOC-500 provides the capacity to control Centerline Position, Oscillation width, Oscillation Velocity, and Left and Right Dwell. The system supplies the user with an easily accessible external interface for remote control functions.
The WOC-1000 provides the capacity of providing independant control of all torch movements in the horizontal plane. Employing patented "Thru-Arc" tracking technology, the system provides automatic torch centering and width control. The WOC-1000 provides automatic torch centering and four modes of operation. Constant width oscillation with automatic torch centering, variable width and centerline control using a depth of penetration parameter to control the width, single right side tracking with constant width and single left side tracking with constant width. All of the seam tracking information is derived from the welding arc and oscillator position.
Both systems provide a user definable 50 sequence Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) with four 24 vdc inputs and two N.O. relay contacts. Using the PLC the user can provide external program control and simple power source interface. The RS-232 serial port is provided for off-line programming and system configuration and can also be used to remotely control both the WOC-500 and WOC-1OOO.
The second component is the pendulum type oscillator or linear slide that are driven by a stepper motors which provides high reliability and low maintenance costs. The oscillator can be installed in-line or at 90 degrees and because of the compact configuration, is usable in confined spaces.
